Bathroom Renovation
A tired bathroom in Brixton, stripped back and rebuilt as a clean, practical family bathroom. The old bath, basin, toilet and tiling came out, and the plasterboard around the shower area was replaced with moisture-resistant board to give the new tiling a sound, dry background. New plumbing followed, then the bath, basin, toilet, radiator, mirror and accessories, with the walls and floor tiled throughout. The ceiling was finished in moisture-resistant paint, the door prepared and repainted, and every last piece of the old bathroom taken away. Two weeks from strip-out to handover, and a straightforward example of the bathroom renovations we carry out across Brixton and South London.

Stage 1: Strip-out
The customer wanted the bathroom stripped out and replaced with a clean, modern and practical family bathroom: new sanitaryware, wall and floor tiling, a new radiator and fresh decoration. The old bath, basin, toilet and tiles came out, and the plasterboard around the shower area was removed where it needed replacing.
Stripped to the studs, with the old boards removed around the shower area Stage 2: Boarding, plumbing and tiling
Moisture-resistant boards went up in place of the old plasterboard, giving the tiling a sound, dry and level background. The plumbing connections were completed for the new bath, basin, toilet and radiator, then the walls and floor were tiled throughout.

New bath, basin, toilet, radiator, mirror and accessories, the ceiling finished in moisture-resistant paint, the door prepared and repainted, and every old fitting cleared from the property.

The part you don't see
Replacing the boards without disturbing the structure
The plasterboard around the shower area had to come out and be replaced with moisture-resistant board without unnecessarily disturbing the surrounding structure. The new boards needed to give a strong, dry and level background for the tiling to sit true, and the plumbing positions, sanitaryware and tile layout all had to be coordinated within the footprint of the existing room.
What went in
- Moisture-resistant plasterboard around the shower area
- New bath, basin and toilet
- New radiator and plumbing connections
- Wall and floor tiling throughout
- Moisture-resistant ceiling finish
- New mirror and accessories
