Walk-in Shower Room

A dated bathroom in Peckham, reworked into a calm, modern walk-in shower room. We took the room back to a shell, then rebuilt it with new plumbing, full waterproofing, large-format tiling and a generous walk-in shower with premium fittings. The finished room is clean and uncluttered, easier to use and built to last, with a bright, open feel that belies its footprint.

How it was done

The full transformation, stage by stage

The brief

A dated bathroom, working against the space

The room was tired and cluttered, and the layout wasted what little floor there was. The brief was a calm, modern walk-in shower room: easier to use every day, brighter, and built to last.

Stage 1

Strip-out, first fix and waterproofing

We took the room back to a shell and renewed the plumbing while the walls were open. The shower area was then fully tanked — the waterproofing layer beneath the tiles that protects the rooms around a wet area for the life of the bathroom, and the part of the job nobody sees once it's finished.

Stage 2

Tiling

Large-format tiles over the fresh waterproofing, walls first and then the floor, set with levelling clips so every joint sits flush. Fewer, larger tiles mean fewer grout lines, which is much of why the finished room feels bigger than its footprint.

A calm, uncluttered walk-in shower room

A generous walk-in shower with premium fittings, clean lines and nothing it doesn't need. The finished room is easier to use and easier to keep, with a bright, open feel that belies its size.
